In 1927, Vic Benson, Sr. founded his hunting camp in the heart of a forest that would define the term wilderness. His camp has since operated in the same exact location, and now the Wilderness Act defines this area as a wild place still. Kurt Puckett is the third owner of this Forest Service permitted camp since the business left the Benson Family. Having spent many years in this area, Kurt is abundantly familiar with the country in which you will hunt.

Proud to have such a wonderful elk hunting camp in an ideal wilderness location, Kurt does his best to ensure its use for many years to come. Kurt is a certified Stock Master by Leave No Trace and takes extra measures to continue on a path of preservation and respect for the forest which provides his living.

As hunting enthusiasts themselves, Kurt and crew are dedicated to offering memorable rifle and bow hunts through their passion for hunting and respect for wildlife and the outdoors. They are fascinated by the “good old days” and are committed to share a full wilderness experience with their hunters.

MontanaElkHunting.com’ is proud to use its very capable horse and mule string. Kurt has extensive experience with horse instruction and teaching riding in this Montana country. The stock is defined as healthy, fit animals that accommodate riders at any horsemanship level.
